TODOMUTA STUDIO IS RELATIVELY YOUNG, BARELY 189,216,000 SECONDS; APPROXIMATELY SIX TERRESTRIAL YEARS SINCE THE MOMENT IN 2011 WHEN LAURA AND SERGIO’S TRAJECTORIES CONVERGED IN A NON-VIOLENT COLLISION AND BECAME SOMETHING TOGETHER THAT WENT BEYOND EACH ONE OF THEM ON THEIR OWN. SOMETHING THAT IS ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO DEFINE AS, SINCE THEN, THEY HAVE BEEN IN CONSTANT CHANGE, A TIRELESS SEARCH FOR NEW FORMS AND GAZES THAT ORBIT AROUND ART AND DESIGN, EXPLORING ITS FRONTIERS. A DISCOURSE THAT IS RECOGNISABLE FOR ITS SINGULARITY, BUT LACKING IN STATIC LAWS.
It could also be said that Todomuta is a design studio; but this would be an incomplete truth. Because we would be leaving out their vital definition, their emotion and the protean capacity of what makes it unique. Freedom of image and attitude, not subject to established norms. If creation is to have no limits, neither must creators. Thus the studio delves into the roots of archaeology, anthropology and nature to create its own collective imagination: a unique universe that insists on the same themes but that incorporates new and varied references.
But Todomuta also admires tradition; it owes it its ancestral aesthetic features, like the roaring of primeval structures that hybridize with a futuristic and sophisticated air. The mystery of ambiguity and the fusion of opposites. As a consequence, this gives way to the creation of a timeless object, with magic capable of conjuring any imitative trend in the market. An object conceived to surprise and even disquiet. An object that awakens in the viewer a desire that goes beyond a mere act of consumption. The ritual of the unique piece, furnished with matter and spirit.
Todomuta is not an isolated planet, it makes sure that it is part of a connected network of multiple disciplines and researchers, to help it obtain nutrients and grow, and allow it to create the most adequate team for each project. This same network of connections has ensured that architecture, fashion and interior design brands and professionals have shown an interest in the idiosyncrasy of the studio, in a sensibility that is conscious of art being the way. Probably the only one.

“THE HOUSE OF EUROPEAN HISTORY”
We created a 25M. tall sculpture that is the key element of the “House of European History” in Brussels. A museum which aims to become a platform for debate about Europe and its history.

When duality is unique, there’s a kind of diverse unity that connects opposites, creating something different, pertaining to both but absent in their own singularities. This apparent gibberish, relates to the ancient saying that two, united, are more than the sum of their parts. Our installation makes reference to this dual synthesis, which is dynamic both in process and in end result.

LEATHER + WOOD + SILICONE
With a design that effortlessly unites futuristic reminiscence and
antediluvian flavour, PLATFORM ONE is the result of conceptual hybridisation and the sum of contrasts. In the manner of a biomechanical creature, its anatomy is arranged around a cold, hard and blue core-heart-eye, like a piece of space synthetized in the sphere’s perfect geometry. The corporeal representation of an oracle, possibly not offering definitive answers but inviting us to dream about them. A masculine or feminine entity? Once more, an ambivalent, even hermaphrodite choice. The anatomy is completed with the exoskeleton joint of a mechanical animal, protecting, challenging and providing stability whilst at the same time foretelling movement. Fauna and flora, mixture of genres, flesh and machine.
Todomuta Studio offers its clients a custom made service for the development of exclusive pieces, being able to adapt them to the scale, material or finishing of their choice. For the development of these pieces, the studio establishes a framework of communication with the customer, which goes on from the very first sketches until the piece is finished.
GALLERIES, CURATORS AND INSTITUTIONS
Todomuta collaborates with exclusive spaces focusing on art and design developing personalized projects, as well as unique or limited edition pieces.
The studio also works on the art direction and the collection development for different brands, regardless of the sectors involved. In most of these cases, Todomuta cooperates with the particular technicians and experts from the brands which request the services.
The studio’s multidisciplinarity allows it to collaborate with professionals from diverse fields, such as architecture, interior design, fashion and restoration who, attracted by the studio’s vision and views, wish to provide their work with artistic value. To this end, Todomuta counts on a multidisciplinary team which grows to meet the specific needs of each project.
The studio also accepts requests from institutions, research and technology centres which wish to connect with the framework of art and design through the
development of projects within their facilities and using the means the centres are equipped with.
